Building Brighter Futures in Cameroon

Empowering Women, Protecting Children, Shaping a Brighter Future.

Cameroon faces significant challenges in education, economic empowerment, health, gender-based violence, and child protection. Armed conflicts have closed schools, limiting access to education, especially for girls. Women struggle with poverty, limited financial opportunities, and inadequate maternal healthcare. Gender-based violence remains widespread but underreported due to stigma. Children face exploitation, child labor, and displacement from conflict. These issues underscore the urgent need for targeted interventions to empower women, protect children, and promote sustainable development.

Mamun International is an NGO based in Yaoundé and dedicated to empowering women and protecting children all over the Cameroonian Territory.

Impact Stories

Attending the Mamun International Workshop during the 2024 Women’s Day celebrations was a life-changing experience for me. I never expected that learning to make banana cake and other treats would have such a profound impact. Beyond saving money and enhancing my family’s meals, the workshop opened my eyes to entrepreneurship and self-reliance. I realized I don’t have to depend solely on my husband. Now, not only can I create mouth-watering pastries, I can also ensure quality, and even earn income. This workshop further inspired me to pursue my passion for fashion design, fueling continuous learning and self-improvement. More than skills, I gained a new perspective on my role in my family. I now strive to be an asset, contributing financially and emotionally. I’m deeply grateful to Mamun International and hope my story encourages other women to embrace such opportunities.
