EmpowerHer Initiative

 

‘EmpowerHer Initiative’ is one of Mamun’s most transformative programs, dedicated to fostering economic independence among young women. Through this initiative, she teaches women several practical skills for self-sufficiency. Beyound pastry making, she also provides financial literacy training, ensuring they understand budgeting, savings, and entrepreneurship.

Mamun’s efforts go beyond skill-building; she instills confidence and ambition, empowering women to take charge of their financial future. By creating a supportive learning environment, she encourages collaboration and growth among participants. Each session is a step towards economic freedom, enabling women to break barriers and pursue sustainable livelihoods.

Women’s Skills Training Workshops

 

Unlock a world of possibilities! We offer a variety of skill training workshops designed to empower women and equip them with the tools they need to achieve financial independence. From pastry making to computer literacy, business management, and entrepreneurship, our programs provide women with the confidence and skills to build brighter futures for themselves and their families.

 

Facts

Approximately 50% of women in Cameroon live below the poverty line, compared to 25% of men, highlighting significant economic disparities.

Nurturing Future’s Initiative

‘Nurturing Future’s Initiative’ is one of Mamun’s most impactful programs, focusing on equipping young women and children with essential health and life skills. In collaboration with partners like My-Period-Buddy , she provides education on menstrual health, hygiene, and sanitation, ensuring young women understand proper menstrual hygiene management while children learn personal cleanliness practices.

Her work extends to child development, offering guidance on child care, transitioning through developmental stages, and how to handle them effectively. She also educates youth on life skills, child rights, protection, and navigating developmental changes with confidence and resilience.

Health Education for Women

Knowledge is power, especially when it comes to health. We offer workshops on essential topics like prenatal care, healthy eating habits, and mental health awareness. Additionally, we provide resources and support groups to promote well-being and empower women to take charge of their physical and mental health.

Facts

Cameroon has a high maternal mortality rate, with limited access to quality prenatal and postnatal care, especially in rural regions.

Fight Against Gender Base Violence

We stand united against gender-based violence. Through community awareness campaigns, support groups for survivors, and collaboration with local authorities, Mamun International strives to create a safer environment for women and girls in Yaoundé. Our programs educate the public, empower victims, and advocate for change.

Facts

In 2020, from February to December alone, approximately 4,300 incidents of sexual and gender-based violence were recorded (A Gender equity report, 2023). Cultural norms and fear of stigmatization contribute to significant underreporting of GBV incidents, making it challenging to address the issue effectively.

Impact Stories

Attending the Mamun International Workshop during the 2024 Women’s Day celebrations was a life-changing experience for me. I never expected that learning to make banana cake and other treats would have such a profound impact. Beyond saving money and enhancing my family’s meals, the workshop opened my eyes to entrepreneurship and self-reliance. I realized I don’t have to depend solely on my husband. Now, not only can I create mouth-watering pastries, I can also ensure quality, and even earn income. This workshop further inspired me to pursue my passion for fashion design, fueling continuous learning and self-improvement. More than skills, I gained a new perspective on my role in my family. I now strive to be an asset, contributing financially and emotionally. I’m deeply grateful to Mamun International and hope my story encourages other women to embrace such opportunities.
